What To Expect – SPRING 2026
| Spring 2026 is right around the corner! We are excited to have you join us and appreciate your support.
Great Lakes FLAG Football League (GLFFL) is a 5v5, non-contact, recreational, Official NFL FLAG Football teaching league. We try to limit teams to 8-10 players to maximize playing time. There are no try-outs. Everyone participates.
Our program relies on Volunteer Coaches (usually parents) to coach our teams. Each team will have up to 3 volunteers assigned. We encourage all parents interested in volunteering to do so during the registration process. Positions available are: Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and Team Manager. Buddy & Coach requests should be made during the registration process. SPRING 2026 SPRING 2026 will be played OUTDOORS at:

Games are played outdoors at Ford Heritage Park on Sunday Afternoons
Games are 48 minutes long with a 1 hour practice prior to your game 6U/7U, 8U/9U, 10/11U & 12/14U Coed Divisions:
$145.00 registration includes the following:

(Refer to our sizing chart for jerseys, as the NFL FLAG styles/sizes have recently been updated)
-NFL Flag Belt
7 week season (includes Meet & Greet) Touchdown for TOTS:

-Tots is a Developmental Program with 4 weeks of instruction and 2 weeks of scrimmages.
NO practice beforehand.
*Players stay in the same age division for Fall/Winter/Spring
*The FLAG football calendar runs from August 1st thru July 31st

IMPORTANT DATES:
January 1: Spring registration begins.
March 1: Registration closes. Last day for guaranteed placement on a team. Late fee may apply based on availability. When divisions fill up, it will be closed down and this may be before the March 1st deadline.
After Registration Closes: We will be forming teams, creating schedules, and more during this time.
Rosters and schedules will be posted prior to the start of the season.
TBD: Mandatory Coaches Meeting, Zoom meeting for all coaches and managers.
April 12 : Meet & Greet. Teams will meet the coach, receive jersey, flagbelt and any additional merchandise that was ordered. Teams will also have their first practice on this day.
April 18: 1st Day of games. Games are 48 minutes long. Your practice is 1 hour prior to your game each week. (NO practice for TOTS Program)

May 3: Picture Day
May 31: End of the regular season
June 7: Make-up day if needed
GLFFL guarantees 5 out of 6 games for the 2026 Spring Season

EQUIPMENT:
*Jerseys, Flag Belts, and a mouth guard must be worn each week. Your jersey and flags, plus any additional merchandise you ordered during your registration, will be given to you at the Meet & Greet. Your player must have a mouth guard to participate. Bring your own, or conveniently purchase at NFL FLAG Table for $5.00 Cash/Venmo/CashApp.
*Athletic pants or shorts without pockets should be worn for practice & games. If participant wears shorts/pants with pockets, the pockets must be taped down to prohibit players' hands or fingers getting caught when pulling flags. We recommend purchasing NFL FLAG Pocket-less Shorts during Registration (but this is not mandatory). The shorts will match the NFL team jersey.
*Participants can wear any type of plastic molded cleats, athletic shoes or sneakers. No metal cleats.

Touchdown for TOTS
*This Program is designed for 3-5 year old Girls & Boys.
- If your child is 5 years old, you have the option to register for our TOTS Program or our 6U/7U Division.
- If you are new to flag football, we recommend to begin with the TOTS Program to learn the basics.
- $100.00 registration includes the following:
NFL FLAG performance reversible jersey and NFL flag belt
- 45 minute long session each week on Sundays from 12:00 noon - 12:45
- Season runs the same as our other programs with a Meet & Greet followed by 6 weeks of learning the basic FUNdamentals of NFL FLAG football.
- Each week consists of warm-ups, basic drills and HAVING FUN! *Scrimmages will be played the last couple weeks of the season. The TOTS Program DOES NOT have weekly practice before their program.
**The focus each week will always be GLFFL CORE VALUES, which are: Have FUN, Good Sportsmanship, Teamwork & Family Values
